Elementary students in Hamilton can hit the snooze button Monday morning, as close to 3,000 teachers are taking part in a one-day strike to protest Bill 115.
All 95 public elementary schools with the Hamilton-Wentworth Board of Education will be closed, affecting nearly 31,000 students.
Tomorrow, on a day that is being termed “Super Tuesday”, more than 330,000 students at elementary schools in Toronto, Peel and Durham Regions will feel the impact when their teachers hit the picket lines in the biggest protest yet.
On Wednesday, meanwhile, 3,400 teachers in Halton will close 83 schools as a result of their one day strike.
If you are a parent whose child attends school-based daycare, you are being encouraged to check with those centres to see if they will remain open during the strike.
