Charity Christmas tree sale raises more than $10K for Food Bank

680News and Citytv’s “Breakfast Television” teamed up once again for the Home Depot Christmas tree sale at Yonge-Dundas Square on Friday.

The sale raised more than $10,000 for the Daily Bread Food Bank.

People who made donations to the food bank got a Christmas tree donated by Home Depot.

Buyers chose from 1,030 Balsam Fir trees (6-8 feet tall) for a minimum donation of $10.

680News music reporter Rudy Blair and BT’s Kevin Frankish, Dina Pugliese, Frank Ferragine and Jennifer Valentyne hosted the event.

In 2011, $14,633 was raised for the Daily Bread Food Bank.
