A man from Vaughan faces numerous charges after police allege he tried to blow up the home of four Dominican Friars on the U of T campus.
Toronto Police told the Globe and Mail, the man, 53, allegedly dispensed propane gas into a house near Huron and College streets early Monday morning. He made a second visit later, breaking into the home around 5 a.m.
Two of the Friars woke up, smelled the propane and confronted the suspect, who ran from the scene.
Police were called and arrested him a short distance away. He has been charged with four counts of attempted murder, several arson-related offences, possession of explosives and intending to cause an explosion.
Dominican Friars are an order of Roman Catholic preachers.
