TORONTO, Ont. – Freezing rain caused dozens of accidents across the GTA Sunday night.
York Regional Police said it responded to almost 70 crashes between 5:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
One woman was sent to hospital with serious injuries after a five car pile-up near 16th Avenue and McCowan Road.
The southbound lanes of Highway 400 at King Road was closed for several hours because of the poor conditions.
