7 pedestrians struck by vehicles Monday morning: Toronto police

TORONTO, Ont. – It was a busy Monday morning for Toronto police and paramedics responding to pedestrians struck while crossing city streets.
Toronto police told 680News seven pedestrians were struck by vehicles in a 45-minute span, Monday. The average is six pedestrian accidents a day.
Among those injured: a woman who was pushing a two-year-old in a stroller at Don Mills Road and Havenbrook Boulevard, just north of Highway 401. They both escaped with minor injuries.
Also, an 83-year-old man was seriously hurt when he was hit by a car at around 7:30 a.m. at Corvette Avenue, near Kennedy Road and Eglinton Avenue East.
Toronto police Const. Clint Stibbe said it was just one of several crashes in a very short-time span.
Police said in most of the incidents the pedestrians were wearing dark-coloured clothing.
