Several ski resorts across southern Ontario beginning to open

While the wintry weather may be a pain for many of us, for skiers and snowboarders it comes with some major perks.

Saturday was the official opening day at the Snow Valley ski and snowboard resort near Barrie, while several other resorts have already opened.

Horseshoe Valley Resort in Barrie is open while Mount St. Louis Moonstone in Clearwater is also open.

In Huntsville, meanwhile, Hidden Valley Highlands has also managed to open its door to skiers and snowboarders.

For those in the Durham Region, Dagmar was able to open this weekend along with Lakeridge Ski Resort.

Sir Sam’s Ski Resort near Haliburton has also managed to open its slopes.

Most of the resorts only have several runs open due to the recent warm weather and lack of snow, however more are expected to open soon.

There has still not been enough for Blue Mountain, southern Ontario’s biggest ski resort, to open.
