Police seek information after puppy found dead in Mississauga park

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Peel Regional Police are seeking the public’s assistance after a puppy’s remains were found in a Mississauga park.
On Nov. 30, a passerby found the remains of a dog in Deerwood Park. Its remains were in such bad condition that investigators were initially unable to determine its breed.
Police have since been able to confirm through forensic tests that the dog was a miniature pinscher. This particular dog had a white patch on its chest. Investigators have not released the cause of death.
“The investigators haven’t released that kind of information yet,” Const. Erin Cooper said. “The only thing I can say for certain is that the dog did meet with foul play.”
Police are looking for anyone who may have information about the owner, the dog or who is responsible.
“We’re looking for any information that anybody has. It might not seem suspicious at the time but let us know and we can determine that.”
