Peel Police are warning homeowners and other customers to do their homework when hiring a snow removal company this season.
Investigators said they receive complaints every year about companies that violate contracts, and recommend being wary of a cheap cash deal and door-to-door sales.
They recommend using a company referred by a family member of friend who may have used it in the past.
Police advise customers to do their research, look into a company and ask for references. They say not to do business with a company that won’t provide its name, street address and telephone number.
