Ontario elementary school teachers are threatening a series of one-day walkouts beginning the second week of December. The walkouts are expected to hit different boards on different days.
According to the Globe and Mail, public high school teachers are considering the same action, but will wait until early next week to decide.
It is not clear if the schools will be shut down for the day, or remain open for students to attend under the supervision of principals.
Board officials have indicated that the decision to remain open or not will be made by the individual schools.
However, Education Minister Laurel Broten said she’ll use the authority Bill 115 gives her to keep teachers in the classroom.
