TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto police have arrested a second person in connection with the theft of $2-million worth toys and other items from the Salvation Army.
Police confirmed to CityNews Umaish Ramrattan, 61, is facing 40 theft-related charges.
He’s scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 4, 2013.
Police also confirmed they have received a third cache of stolen goods after investigators raided a warehouse in Brampton, Ont., on Wednesday.
A total of 26 skids of alleged stolen property were seized.
The first person charged is the Salvation Army’s warehouse former executive director, David Rennie.
Rennie, 51, was arrested on Monday, and faces charges of theft over $5,000, posession of stolen property and criminal breach of trust.
Over $2-million in toys was allegedly stolen from the Salvation Army's Railside Road facility near Lawrence and Victoria Park avenues over the course of two years.
