Below is a list of events taking place this weekend (Nov. 23-25) in the GTA:
For families: It’s the last weekend for Alligator Pie, which uses theatre and music to bring the children’s poems of Canada’s Father Goose, Dennis Lee, to life. Young Centre for the Performing Arts, 50 Tank House Ln. Friday-Sunday. Various times. $20-$29.
For visitors: A sure sign the holiday shopping push has started, the annual One of a Kind Christmas Show & Sale is here. Look for unique, hand-made gifts, including art, crafts, fashion and food. Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place. Until Dec. 2. Most days: 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Adults $14; seniors/students $7; children free.
For singles: London DJ Dom Servini spins at the Footprints Official 10 Year Anniversary Bash. Expect soul, funk, Afrobeat and hip hop. Only adults 19 and older are allowed. The Rivoli, 334 Queen St. W. Saturday. 10 p.m.-3 a.m. Cover $10.
For charity: Join a group of merrymakers in the city’s west end for the annual Caroling in the Kingsway Concert. All proceeds go to Out of the Cold, which provides shelter to Toronto’s homeless community. Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3055 Bloor St. W. Saturday. 1:30 p.m. Donations requested.
For kicks: Learn how to make a Christmas wreath using elements from nature in this two-hour workshop in High Park’s historic Colborne Lodge. A tour of the house, decorated Victorian-style and refreshments are included. Pre-registration required. 11 Colborne Lodge Dr. Saturday. 10 a.m.-12 p.m. $30 plus tax.
