Toronto District School Board trustees have voted “no” on a controversial plan to sever land from schools.
The budget plan was voted down 17-5.
During a closed door meeting, Monday, trustees considered selling off land at 127 school playgrounds across Toronto. The sale would have raise an estimated $100-million.
Aging schools have estimated $3-billion backlog in repairs.
