The long-awaited final instalment of the Twilight Saga now holds the record for the sixth-highest opening day at the box office in the United States.
Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 took in $71.2-million on Friday night alone.
Box-office prognosticators believe the movie could hit the $135-million mark by the end of the weekend.
The film has also raked in $91 million in overseas markets.
