TORONTO, Ont. – The 45th annual Cavalcade of Lights helped officially kick off the holiday season at Nathan Phillips Square Saturday night.

People from all across the GTA flocked to the downtown core to watch the concert, fireworks and lighting of the iconic tree.

With the crowd at the Cavalcade including some from Mexico, England and even Japan, everyone had a different reason for heading down to City Hall.

“We’re looking forward to the tree lighting, and we also came to see Dragonette,” said one woman.

“The singing, there is Alyssa Reid happening,” said another.

The Cavalcade featured an impressive display of fireworks as well as a pyrotechnic dance by Circus Orange.

An open-air dance party with JJ Rock also took place.

Other musical performances included R&B artist Sean Jones and Suzie McNeil.
