Following the stabbing, a TTC driver stopped to help the injured 20-year-old man, who was rushed to hospital with multiple stab wounds to the back.
Emergency officials confirm the man is suffering from severe, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The stabbing happened just after 9 p.m. Friday, and police say it was a streetcar driver who stopped to help.
“TTC driver arriving on scene observed this male in distress, stopped his streetcar and rendered medical assistance, at this point he called 9-1-1,” police said.
The accused teenager, who can’t be identified, faces four charges including aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon.
