TORONTO, Ont. – No one was hurt in a fiery tractor-trailer crash on Highway 401 Friday that prompted a closure during the morning rush.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. when a tractor-trailer and pick-up truck collided.
The rig, which wasn’t carrying any cargo, caught fire after the collision and heavy smoke was billowing through the area.
The OPP closed the westbound collectors in the area for more than an hour. The lanes reopened around 8:15 a.m.
The truck driver faces a careless driving charge.
