Rihanna rocks Toronto in 777 tour stop at Danforth Music Hall

TORONTO, Ont. – Rihanna rocked the Danforth Music Hall Thursday, as a part of her seven-country, seven-day tour to promote her new album.

Roughly 800 fans packed the theatre to see the pop star perform.

“I can’t get over the fact that I’m here. It’s probably one of the coolest things I’ve ever attended,” one fan told 680News.

“It was definitely a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” another fan said.

“I had a phenomenal time,” a fan said. “It blew my mind. I love Rihanna so much.”

Rihanna made the announcement on Twitter after touching down in Toronto. The date of the “secret” show was confirmed but Rihanna had been quiet about the location.

The only way to get tickets to the show was to get a wristband, or to win them through 680News’ sister stations, CHFI 98.1 or KISS 92.5.

Rihanna is performing at seven concerts in seven countries in seven days and she is taking a Boeing 777 between cities.

Fans in Toronto told 680News that they think it is a clever promotion.

Her tour began in Mexico City Wednesday night with an exclusive performance for about 2,000 fans. Toronto is her only Canadian stop.

CityNews entertainment reporter Mary Kitchen is along for the ride. Kitchen is travelling with fans and other reporters on the chartered jet as Rihanna visits Stockholm, Paris, Berlin, London and New York City.

It is all part of the promotion for Rihanna’s seventh album Unapologetic, which will be in stores on Monday.
