KINGSVILLE, Ont. – Police say seven people are in hospital following a fiery head-on collision between a minivan and a car carrying six people on Wednesday evening in Kingsville.
Police say the eastbound car, driven by a 19-year-old LaSalle man, entered the westbound lane of Highway 3 an collided with the van near Graham Side Road.
Police say the occupants of the car managed to escape after it caught fire, but a 50-year-old woman from Windsor who was driving the minivan had to be extricated by witnesses.
Police say all seven people were transported to various hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
However, provincial police Sgt. Rick Tonial says the woman who was driving the minivan and some of the passengers of the car are listed in serious condition.
The investigation into the crash was expected to take several hours.
