Teen girl, 16, sexually assaulted in Broadview-Danforth area

TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto police are investigating after a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in the Broadview and Danforth avenues area Monday night.

The assault happened at around 9 p.m. in the Broadview and Mortimer avenues areas, just north of the Broadview subway station.

Police told 680News she walked by a man who asked her for a light. When she got close, he grabbed her and pulled her into a nearby laneway at knife-point. Police said she was then violently sexually assaulted.

The girl was taken to hospital.

The suspect is described as:

  • White male
  • Around 40 years old
  • 6′-6’1″
  • Facial stuble
  • Was wearing dark, baggy sweatpants, a button-up type shirt and a dark jacket

The Sex Crimes Unit is investigating.

It was the third reported sexual assault in the city on Monday. Two women were sexually assaulted at knife-point after a man forced his way into their Avenue Road and Lawrence Avenue West home.
