Friends and co-workers of Nighisti Semret, who was stabbed to death in Cabbagetown on Tuesday, have set up two memorial trust funds so they can fly her body to Uganda for a funeral.
The African refugee’s three adult children and other family members currently live in Uganda.
Money raised will also be used to help Semret’s husband obtain a visa so he can travel to Toronto.
