RICHMOND HILL, Ont. – York police have arrested a 53-year-old man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run in Richmond Hill.
Police were called to the Yonge Street and Stouffville Road area at around 3:30 a.m. Thursday after a 30-year-old man was been struck by a 2007 Honda Fit.
It was later determined the Honda was the second car to run over the man. That driver stopped and called police.
Investigators said he was initially hit by a silver 2007 Mercedes SUV that fled the scene. The driver of that vehicle — Choo-Beng Quah, from Richmond Hill — surrendered to police at around 9 p.m. Thursday.
He faces three charges: failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm and failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing death.
