MONTREAL, Que – Around 1,000 police officers were involved in a massive raid, Thursday, against an alleged nationwide narcotics trafficking ring.
Authorities said several searches and arrests are expected in roughly 30 municipalities in Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia.
They said the sweep targets a drug trafficking network linked to organized crime.
Quebec provincial police, Montreal police and RCMP are working together in the investigation.
Investigators said they will release more details about the raid at 2 p.m. at the Quebec provincial police headquarters in Montreal, Que.
