TORONTO, Ont. – It’s that time of year again, with the 18th annual Toronto Police Auxiliary Toy Drive kicking off Saturday morning.
The toy drive officially started at 43 Division Saturday morning, where the drive is expected to support more than 3,000 children and teens from the Scarborough area.
Officials say in light of this summer’s tragic shooting near Danzig Street, there will be a focus on providing toys to the children living in that community.
All toy donations are welcome but toys for boys and girls between the ages of 10-14 are especially needed, according to police officials.
Chief Bill Blair was on hand for the kickoff of the event at 43 Division, located in southeast Scarborough.
