TORONTO, Ont. – The year 2012 was another banner one of the Canadian National Exhibition.
Nearly two months after this year’s event wrapped up, officials report 1.39-million people visited the Ex – a 13 per cent increase over 2011.
CNE General Manager David Bednar said the higher number of visitors is likely to result in a surplus over budget for the second consecutive year.
The CNE is thought to generate more than $58.5-million for the GTA and $80-million for the province.
Founded in 1879, it is one of the top 10 fairs in North America.
