TORONTO, Ont. – A man in his 60′s is in hospital with head injuries after what began as a case of road rage, but quickly got an entire street in Scarborough involved in the action, Monday morning.

Toronto Police told 680News the man was driving around 11:15 a.m. in the Midland and Lawrence area, when he said he was cut off by another driver.

He then got out of his car and confronted the woman driving the other vehicle. According to witness’ accounts, he began to choke the female driver, at which point her brother got out of the car and tried to hold the man back by putting him back in his car, but efforts failed.

“He went back to the other car and was trying to start something again, and all these other people were coming to hold him back from the people who were in the car, and one of the guys ended up punching him,” one woman who watched the events unfold told CityNews.

The fist fight drew a huge crowd of people. The other driver, meanwhile, left the scene.

So far, two men in their 20′s have been arrested.

There is no word on whether or not the male driver will be charged. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
