Police in Peel Region have now confirmed that a suspicious death inside a home near Queen Street and The Gore Road is a homicide.
The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Andrew DaCosta, although police have not specified how he was killed.
Constable Thomas Ruttan told 680News police were called to the home on Zia Dodda Crescent just before 5:30 p.m. Friday.
“Upon arrival police located a male and determined the death to be suspicious,” Ruttan said.
There were obvious signs of trauma to the body, which police say caused concern and prompted the investigation by the homicide department.
Officers will be canvassing the area Saturday to try and gather more information on the homicide.
Anyone with information should contact Peel police or Crime Stoppers.
