OSHAWA, Ont. – The bail hearing for former Oshawa city councillor Robert Lutczyk has been delayed until Monday.
Lutczyk, 45, is facing several charges following a kidnapping and a 27-hour standoff with police at a Whitby, Ont., auto shop.
The alleged kidnap victim — Oshawa city solicitor David Potts — escaped unharmed early Tuesday and Lutczyk surrendered peacefully early Wednesday morning.
Among the charges: kidnapping using a restricted firearm, forcible confinement and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
Investigators believe Lutczyk was upset with the victim over business matters he had with the City of Oshawa.
