TORONTO, Ont. – The Red Rocket’s ridership skyrocketed this month.
TTC officials said the Red Rocket achieved a new 12-month ridership record.
Between Oct. 3, 2011 and Oct. 2, 2012, the TTC carried just over 510 million riders.
By the end of the year, the TTC is expecting to have carried 514 million riders. Next year, it predicts ridership to increase with a projected ridership of 528 million.
In September and October, the TTC increased service on 77 subway, streetcar and bus routes. More service will be added in 2013 to deal with the ridership demand.
