The nationwide beef recall has been expanded once again.
Additional products which may be contaminated with E. coli have now been identified in British Columbia. Click here for the list.
The recall includes hundreds of products including ground beef, steaks and other beef products.
The affected products are associated with the same XL Foods manufacturing dates of Aug. 24, 27, 28, 29 and Sept. 5 (2012) as the previously recalled ground beef products.

E.coli bacteria was first detected at the XL plant in Brooks, Alta. on Sept. 4, but it wasn’t until three weeks later that the CFIA suspended the plant’s operating license until measures are implemented to ensure its products are safe.
XL Foods had temporarily laid off 800 workers last weekend but a day later, recalled them in order to resume inspections by the CFIA.
The number of illnesses linked to beef products from the plant stands at 11 people in Canada.
