HAMILTON, Ont. – The Ontario Provincial Police have identified the woman who was killed when a flying tire struck her vehicle on the Toronto-bound QEW on Monday night.
Meaghan O’Halloran-Black, 20, of Stoney Creek, Ont. was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Cavalier when a tire came off a Fort Erie-bound pick-up truck and bounced over the centre median and struck her vehicle.
She was transported to Hamilton General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The 21-year-old driver of the Dodge Ram pick-up truck was not injured.
The Toronto-bound QEW lanes from Centennial Parkway to Burlington Street were closed for three hours for the investigation.
