MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Police are searching for two suspects after shots were fired inside Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga during a jewelry store robbery Tuesday night.
Peel Regional police said there was a robbery at Peoples Jewellers shortly before 8:30 p.m. An unknown quantity of jewelry was taken.
There were no injuries.
“Luckily, no one was hurt as a result of shots being fired within the mall,” Const. George Tudos said.
The mall was bustling at the time of the robbery and the “outcome could have been a lot worse,” he said.
It is unclear whether the shots were fired in the jewelry store or elsewhere in the mall.
Police are seeking two black men who were last spotted fleeing on foot.
Investigators are speaking to witnesses at the mall.
