TORONTO, Ont. – Police are hoping to cut down on the number of 911 misdials being made in the workplace.
Many offices – including those here at 680News – require employees to dial 9 in order to get an outside line.
Police are asking people to double check numbers before dialling – to “take a minute to save a minute”.
They add that all mistaken calls to 911 take up valuable time which could save a life in a real emergency.
Last year, more than 116,000 calls were misdialed to 911.
