TORONTO, Ont. – A 90-year-old Mississauga man celebrated his birthday by doing the CN Tower EdgeWalk.
Michael Welch turns 91 in December and said he was inspired to take on the 116-storey adventure after one of his daughters emailed him photos of her experience.
“I said I want to do that so they have given it to me as a birthday present.”
Unlike others who have attempted the EdgeWalk, Welch said he was not a bit nervous.
“I love heights,” he exclaimed.
Welch served in WWII as a fighter pilot.
The EdgeWalk is not his first adventure. In the last two years he has swam with dolphins, gone horseback riding and white water rafted.
