A 19-year-old man has been killed after a single-vehicle crash just north of Barrie.

The crash happened in Springwater Township just before 10 p.m. Saturday night.

The OPP says a car travelling westbound crossed over the centreline, went into a ditch and then hit a hydro pole.

The reason for the driver losing control is still not known.

Scott Bailey, of Midland, was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.
