An 82-year-old man has died after a two-vehicle crash in Port Perry Friday afternoon.
The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Simcoe Street and Whitfield Road.
The crash happened when a Toyota, driven by the 82-year-old Port Perry man, entered the intersection where a BMW, driven by a 17-year-old Bracebridge male, was driving.
The BMW swerved to the left in an attempt to avoid the collision but was unable to do so.
The BMW ended up in a ditch while the driver and passenger suffered only minor injuries.
The 82-year-old driver of the Toyota was airlifted to St. Michael’s Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Collision investigators were called and the investigation is still ongoing.
Anyone with information on the crime is being asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
