MARKHAM, Ont. – A 49-year-old Richmond Hill man was charged following a vehicle traffic stop in Markham that led to the discovery of nearly $750,000 in drugs.
York Regional Police said the man was stopped on Major Mackenzie Drive near Markland Street on Tuesday when he was found to be driving a vehicle with a suspended driver’s licence and in possession of $1,500 in cash and 1 kilogram of ecstasy with an estimated $25,000 value.
A search warrant was executed at his Richmond Hill home on Rubin Street where investigators seized 11 kilograms of ecstasy worth $275,000 and 41 kilograms of hash valued at $410,000.
Stephen Enoch Paul faces charges of trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance.
He is in custody and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 11.
