TORONTO, Ont. – Nearly 100 everyday “superheroes” rapelled down from a 17-storey downtown building to raise money for Easter Seals on Thursday.
In its eighth year, the Easter Seals Drop Zone Toronto drew thrill-seekers to skim down the head office of property management company CREIT at Bloor and Church streets.
“Once you get passed the idea that you’re going to do it, and you’re committed to doing it, the tough part is going over the edge,” CREIT president Stephen Johnson told 680News.
In its run, the event has raised almost $7-million and over 4,000 individuals have participated.
Participants must fundraise at least $1,500 to take part.
The event also took place on the side of buildings in 15 Canadian cities, including Ottawa and Montreal.
Easter Seals is in its 90th year and helps children and youth with physical disabilities.
