WHITBY, Ont. – A man is wanted in connection with a home invasion in Whitby on Saturday.

Durham Regional Police said a 61-year-old woman and her 64-year-old husband were confronted by a man when they were entering their home in the Thickson Road and Taunton Road area.

The suspect tried to grab the woman’s necklace and a struggled ensued. He was unable to get the necklace and fled the area north on Taunton Road.

The woman was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Her husband and a daughter present home at the time were not harmed.

Police are seeking a light-skinned black man, between 25-30, with a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white shirt underneath and black track pants with white piping down the legs.
