Peel police have arrested a man they allege drove off after hitting a pedestrian in Brampton.

Paramedics took the victim to the hospital where she remains in serious condition.

The incident happened just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday at Queen Street East and Rutherford Road.

Officers later found the suspected SUV involved and arrested the driver.

There has been no information released on the age of the suspect or victim.
