Durham region’s health department is confirming two deaths in the region related to West Nile virus.

So far in 2012, Durham has documented seven cases of West Nile — three confirmed and four probable — including the two deaths.

There were two cases in 2011 and just one case in 2010.  

On Thursday, two other deaths related to the virus in were confirmed in Ontario, including a Toronto case.
