TORONTO – Unionized workers at General Motors Canadian plants have voted in favour of a new contract.

The Canadian Auto Workers union says about 4,000 members voted 73 per cent in favour of a contract reached last week.

There are more than 8,000 CAW members at GM facilities in Oshawa, St. Catharines and Woodstock, Ont.

Voting on the contract was held Wednesday and Thursday.

Ford’s Canadian workers accepted a new contract on the weekend.

Chrysler reached a tentative deal with its Canadian workers earlier this week they’ll vote on the deal this weekend.

The deal that GM workers accepted includes a $3,000 quality and productivity bonus for workers as well as cost of living payments.
