TORONTO, Ont. – A funeral has been held for a 17-year-old girl who was struck and killed by a car driven by her sister over the weekend.
Fartune Abdulle was killed just after 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Attwell Drive, near Dixon Road and Carlingview Drive. Her 18-year-old sister, who was coming to pick Fartune up when the accident happened, somehow jumped the curb in a Toyota Camry.
One of the teen’s friends described her as a “girl who was smiling and laughing since the first time I’ve met her in the fourth grade,” and her family described her as having a “personality that lights up any room.”
The funeral was held 1 p.m. Monday at the Khalid Bin al-Walid Mosque, near Kipling Avenue and Rexdale Boulevard.
