TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto police have arrested a man they allege is a known member of a notorious Toronto street gang in connection with two separate shootings in the city’s east-end.

The two shooting incidents are among a spate of shootings that occurred in Scarborough between Sept. 2011 and Jan. 2012.

Police said they have arrested a Toronto man allegedly responsible for two shootings one on Sept. 4, 2011 where three people were shot and a second shooting on Nov. 4, 2011 where one person was shot.

All were wounded but survived.

Ad-Ham Khamis, 19, faces a slew of charges, including four counts of attempted murder and trafficking in firearms.

Police allege the accused is a known member of the Galloway Boys street gang.

Earlier this month, police linked the Toronto street gang to the mass shooting at a community barbecue in Scarborough. But Khamis is not facing charges in connection with the incident.

He is scheduled to appear at a Scarborough courthouse on Friday.
