Police have charged a 36-year-old Woodbridge man in a scam involving fake diamonds.

The victims were encouraged to buy diamonds and once they turned over cash, they’d be left with nothing but rocks, Members of the Peel Regional Police Fraud Bureau said.

Walter Mushamba will appear in court next month on a charge of fraud while police continue to search for two other female suspects.

Police said there could be other victims and they’re encouraged to come forward.
