TORONTO, Ont. – Pilots landing an airplane at Pearson International Airport said a laser beam was aimed at the aircraft, Peel police said on Tuesday.
Police told 680News the incident occurred at around 8:45 p.m. No information about the aircraft has been released.
During landing, pilots on the aircraft reported a laser light shone at the airplane.
No one was injured.
Police said they are treating the report as a criminal investigation.
Under the Aeronautics Act, aiming a bright light at an aircraft cockpit is a federal offence that carries a maximum penalty of $100,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.
