A pedestrian is in hospital following an accident at the intersection of York Mills and Victoria Park, Thursday morning, in the latest in a string of motorcycle crashes over the past week.

The pedestrian was hit by a motorcycle just before 7 a.m., and suffered two broken legs.

Earlier Thursday morning, a 54-year-old motorcyclist from Richmond Hill was killed on Major Mackenzie when he was hit by a pick-up truck.

York Regional Police told 680News the man was exiting the northbound 400, when the truck going eastbound in the westbound lanes hit him. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

Larry Olivera, 30, from Etobicoke, faces Impaired Driving causing Death charges and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

Major Mackenzie was closed between Highway 400 and Jane Street for the investigation, but has since been re-opened.

Meanwhile, On Tuesday, a motorcycle rider was killed after hitting a pick-up truck on northbound Marlee at Glengrove, in the Allen Road and Lawrence area.

On Friday, a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries after striking a vehicle at Royal York Road and Evans in south Etobicoke.
