TORONTO, Ont. – Dozens of gamers decked out in Leafs’ gear lined up Monday evening to nab a copy of EA’s NHL ’13, which hit the shelves countrywide on Tuesday.
Midnight launch parties took place in six Canadian cities on Monday to mark the release of the highly anticipated game.
Gamers were given an opportunity to play the game before its official midnight release, treated to giveaways and meet NHL players.
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Phil Kessel graced the cover of an alternate sleeve for the game.
In Toronto, a street hockey tournament at Yonge-Dundas Square allowed teams to register for a chance to be coached by Kessel and left-winger James Van Riemsdyk.
One woman, waited nearly six hours to purchase the game for her boyfriend at EB Games on Yonge Street.
