TORONTO, Ont. – A number of special events will close streets this weekend in Toronto, while TTC commuters in the city’s core may need extra time.

A section of Bloor Street West will be closed starting Friday at 12 p.m. to Sunday at 11 p.m. Prince Edward Drive North and Montgomery Road will be closed for the Taste of the Kingsway.

A section of Spadina Avenue, from College Street to Dundas Street, will be closed from Saturday at midnight to Sunday at 11 p.m. for the Chinatown Festival.

Starting at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Parliament Street from Gerrard Street to Wellesley Street will be closed in both directions until 11 p.m. for the Cabbagetown Festival. On Sunday, the section of Parliament Street will be closed from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

A section of College Street will be closed for the Fiera Tarantella Festival. The closure spans from Shaw Street to Bathurst Street and will last from Saturday at 9 a.m. to Monday at 3 a.m.

On Sunday, a series of road closures will take place for the Bang and Olufsen Yorkville 5K Charity Fun Run/Walk. The affected area spans from Davenport Road to the north, Queen’s Park/Avenue Road to the west, College Street to the south and Bay Street to the east and will last from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Weekend subway service between Union Station and St. Andrew Station on the Yonge-University-Spadina line will be halted for scheduled construction at Union Station. Regular subway service will resume on Monday at 6 a.m.
