Police in Sarnia are now confirming that they are investigating the city’s first homicide in nearly three years.

This comes after a 50-year-old woman was found dead in a residence Friday morning. Police said an autopsy will be conducted in London Saturday to confirm the exact cause of death.

A local Sarnia newspaper is reporting that a 52-year-old man is under arrest and facing charges in relation to the alleged homicide. Police said the victim and man knew each other.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of extended family members.
