TORONTO, Ont. – Doctors in Ontario and the governing provincial Liberals said they’re going back to the bargaining table.

Both sides have agreed to restart negotiations, saying they’re confident an agreement can be reached that’s fair for both doctors and the taxpayers.

Reaching a deal has so far proven difficult. In fact, in July, the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) filed documents with the Ontario Superior Court asking it to review the McGuinty government’s negotiating tactics.

Earlier this year, talks broke off after the province rejected an offer by doctors to freeze wages for two years.
